Installation conditions

When designing a photovoltaic system for the proper and gainful its operation, must first obtain the optimum angle of the panels, which should provide perpendicular sunlight the panels, which is achieved with the installation inclination angle of 30-35 degrees, oriented towards the south. Other factors are the total lack of shading by other objects, trees, chimneys, etc. located in the immediate area as well as the technical characteristics of the panels (maximum power that can get under standard solar illumination).

When planning photovoltaic systems should first prepare a feasibility study of the project.
 
Photovoltaic panels can be mounted on roofs, also flat and open areas. Before installing them it is necessary to check the load capacity of the roof. (Weight panels with accessories and construction is about 20 kg/m2)
Roof installation is performed on a rack with aluminum rails, making the space between the roof and the panels allows for ventilation. On flat roofs and open areas panels are mounted on a special stand, also at a right angle.

 

Two main types of photovoltaic systems:

  1. On-grid system, which is connected to the network and allows the sale of surplus power or total grid. The system is maintenance-free and requires no supervision of the owner.
  2. Off-grid sytem – stand-alone, that is not connected to the grid. The generated electricity is stored and distributed in a specific area. Energy must be stored in batteries when the production exceeds the current demand and is used when there is insufficient radiation during the day and at night. Such systems are used in areas without access to the network, such as in mountain huts, farms, single buildings, shelters or caravans. Due to the very high cost of batteries and their short life, it is not currently viable.
